Abstract

|
The Purpose of this study was to verify three generation family apartment appropriate as a cultural housing model in Korea. This was done through library search. For Verification of the validity to develop the apartment, four areas such as elderly welfare, family welfare, housing culture, and housing plan for the elderly were selected.
Conclusions were as follows :
The apartment hypothesised offers various unit plans which provide various degrees of privacy between the elderly and their married childrens´ living quarters, senior centers which provide the elderly´s healthcare services and social activity programs, and family welfare centers which provide daycare, library, clubhouse, etc. for residents use only. Additionally it was suggested to be shaped in a way that promotes residents´ feeling of togetherness and attachment to the community.
The appropriateness of the three generatioin family apartment as a cultural housing model in Korea was verified. It´s contribution to promote and disseminate new cultural climate of housing wes expected promising.
